VALENTINA COLADONATO

Soprano Valentina Coladonato holds degrees in foreign languages and literature, in addition to her vocal studies where she graduated with honors. She's a laureate of numerous international vocal competitions and made her operatic debut in Cavalli’s L’Orimindo. Coladonato has frequently performed leading roles in operas by Monteverdi, Scarlatti, Vivaldi, and Mozart. Her pedagogical pursuits are robust, and she's also a member of the vocal group Syntax Ensemble. Her concert activities and repertoire encompass a vast spectrum of works and styles, ranging from the Baroque to contemporary music, both secular and sacred. She has performed with premiere orchestras such as La Venexiana (with whom she recorded several albums for the Glossa label), Accademia Bizantina, La Stagione Armonica, and Sentieri Selvaggi. She has premiered various compositions, with several composers having written pieces especially for her. Coladonato records with some of the world's leading labels like Decca, Orchard, and Brilliant Classics.

Valentina Coladonato has graced stages of the most prestigious concert halls: from the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Opéra National de Paris, Vienna Musikverein, and Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, to the Dmitri Shostakovich Philharmonic in Saint Petersburg and the Frick Collection in New York. She has participated in distinguished festivals, such as those in Salzburg and the Flanders Festival. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with renowned directors and conductors, including Riccardo Muti, David Robertson, Lior Shambadal, Ottavio Dantone, and John Axelrod.
