glass duo

Anna Szafraniec and Arkadiusz Szafraniec form the duo, virtuosos of the glass harp, an instrument made of glasses. They are the only performers in Poland who focus on glass music and are also one of the most recognizable ensembles of this kind in the world. Their instrument is the largest glass harp in the world, spanning a range of 5 octaves. The ensemble is invited to the most prestigious music festivals and cultural events, standalone events organized by Polish Institutes and other diplomatic entities, as well as independent organizations. They have performed on many esteemed stages, visiting over 40 countries in Europe, Asia, and both Americas. The duo has collaborated with the majority of Polish philharmonic orchestras, with the National Philharmonic and Sinfonia Varsovia at the forefront, as well as numerous international orchestras.

During their concerts, the musicians of GlassDuo delve into a diverse repertoire ranging from classical, film, and original music. They also premiere pieces specially written for them. They have worked with renowned composers such as Zbigniew Preisner and have performed and recorded music by Tom Smail, Mieczysław Litwiński, Garry Eister, Zbigniew Pniewski, Piotr Salaber, Aleksander Przeradowski, and Daniele Furlati. GlassDuo's recordings have been used in productions on stages of theaters like the Ateneum Theatre in Warsaw, Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Łódź, and the New Theatre in Słupsk. The duo has also collaborated with media outlets such as Arte TV, Discovery Channel, Deutsche Welle, and Associated Press.
