He has graduated from the Academy of Music in Warsaw, where he had studied singing under professor Kazimierz Pustelak.

While still a student, he started his cooperation with Warsaw Chamber Opera and the Grand Theatre in Warsaw, as part of which he has made numerous tours, performing in France, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, and Japan.

Robert Gierlach has received the 1st prize in the Viotti Opera Singing Competition, as well as the audience prize in the Alfredo Kraus International Singing Competition, Las Palmas.

For more than twenty years, he has been performing in prestigious concert venues and opera houses in Poland and abroad. He has appeared at many major music festivals. Apart from that, he is highly valued as a performer of song repertoire.

He has sung with the greatest orchestras in the world, including Berliner Philharmoniker, Wiener Philharmoniker, Philadelphia Orchestra, and NHK Tokyo. He has cooperated with distinguished artists such as Yehudi Menuhin and Simon Rattle.

For a couple of years, he has been a singing teacher at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
