Winner of First Prize at the 6th Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors (1999). The artist has a great deal of experience with symphonic, opera, operetta and ballet music and has a bright, fluid conducting style. He focuses on contemporary music and 19th-century opera.

The Baltic Philharmonic’s first guest conductor, since 2017 first conductor of the Rzeszów Philharmonic Orchestra. Over the past decade, he has given concerts in Israel, Oman, USA, Chile, Brazil, Turkey and many European countries. He also conducts the leading orchestras in Poland, performing at prestigious festivals. In 2018 he recorded Raul Koczalski – Piano concertos for Acte Préalable and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Gian Francesco Malipiero, Riccardo Malipiero Cello concertos for Sony Classical.

Massimiliano Caldi will perform at the International Mozart Festival for the eighth time. To date he has conducted pieces such as Bastien und Bastienne, La finta semplice and, last year, La nozze fan tutte.
